Our philosophy on community engagement

WisACT plans community events throughout the year. Whether they are coffee meet-ups with our co-leads, trainings with our partners, or a booth at a county fair, the idea is the same: to build relationships before we need them.

In an uncertain world where trust in a variety of institutions - and in each other - sometimes seems weak, we believe strongly that we all need to build and nourish our relationships with each other.

If you have an idea for a WisACT event, small or large, please reach out to our state co-leads or to our state coordinator:

WISCONSIN ELECTION LAW AND THE CITIZEN LAWYER

With the election just around the corner, Wisconsin poll workers are training and gearing up for high turnouts and long hours. But in another season plagued by polarization, misleading and false information about elections, and election-related litigation, some Americans doubt our elections will be “honest and open.”

How can lawyers help?

Turn to Wisconsin Election Law and the Citizen Lawyer to learn how you can participate as a lawyer in Wisconsin elections. This CLE event for lawyers will feature Kevin Kennedy, a former Wisconsin election official for more than 45 years and now vice-president of the Center for Election Innovation and Research, and former state Sen. Kathy Bernier.
